BALDWIN-REYNOLDS HOUSE MUSEUM OPENING JULY 8

In accordance with guidelines set by state and local officials, the Crawford County Historical Society and its museums – including the Baldwin-Reynolds House Museum at Mount Hope and the J. Russell Mosier Medical Office Museum – will reopen to the public starting in July.

The health and safety of our visitors and staff is the Historical Society’s top priority. The Society and its museums have established new procedures and policies to ensure you and your family will feel safe upon entering our buildings, conducting research, and enjoying our exhibitions.

ADVANCED RESERVATIONS FOR TOURS

The Historical Society and its museums will operate at a reduced capacity. Appointments will be required for conducting research at the Society’s Archive. An appointment can be made by clicking on the Appointment button above.

HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICIES FOR PATRONS & STAFF

Visitors are requested to practice social distancing (remain at least six feet apart) throughout their museum or archive experience unless they are part of the same household. To assist with this at the Museum, an appointment will be required and can be made by the button above.

All visitors are required to wear face coverings upon entering our facilities while it remains a recommendation by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. If you forget to bring a face covering with you to the Society or our museums, disposable masks will be provided. Anyone not willing to wear a mask for the safety of others will be asked to leave until after COVID heath concerns have passed.

Staff are required to wear face coverings while in contact with other staff, volunteers, and visitors. Plexiglass shields are installed at areas of frequent contact between staff and visitors alike, including Admissions Desks/Shop counters.

SANITATION PROCEDURES

The Historical Society and our museums are implementing extensive sanitation measures, including:

  • Providing hand sanitizing stations for visitors at the entrances and throughout the building;
  • Regular cleaning and sanitation of high-touch points (door handles, countertops, etc.);
  • Thorough cleaning of restrooms throughout each day;
  • Deeper cleanings and sanitization during non-operating hours;
  • Routine monitoring, emptying, and cleaning of garbage receptacles throughout the day;

HISTORY AT HOME

Visitors who are uncomfortable returning to our physical space at this time can explore an array of virtual offerings on the Society and Baldwin-Reynolds House Museum’s Facebook pages. We can help you with your research from afar.
